Services -> Publishing & Content Management

Overview

MCG has spent a number of years working with clients in the Publishing industry. These organizations rely upon an enormous amount of data from a variety of legacy, current, and external sources. Each data feed is processed according to specific requirements and validated through complex workflows as it moves through the organization towards its destination in either print, web or as syndicated content. Whether it's XML, MARC, ASCII Text, or from a relational database, MCG can import and cleanse the data. Our consulting practitioners have worked with outside vendors and customers to arrange both import and syndication needs of our clients.

The ability to rapidly respond to change in the industry and offer more value added services to clients requires a highly dynamic web strategy. The Content Management system allows the organization to focus on the quality and value of it's content - not the delivery. MCG professionals have worked with a variety of platforms from Early Render to Database Cached architectures.

Please read some of the success stories below. We would be glad to arrange a tour or provide additional details based upon our clients’ availability and the nature of your inquiry.

Service Line Summary

What Publishing & CM services are clients currently demanding and getting from MCG?

MCG continues to support one of the world’s premier publishing organizations that produces print and online content for the technical and scientific communities. The large volume of related publications enables this organization to create a portal environment where industry specific information can be shared and linked to each site. MCG has created several online industry-specific directories that provide the participants with web-based content management and internal administration tools with associated review/approval workflow functionality.

Recently, MCG worked to produce a comprehensive Bibliographic and Reviews database used to drive three high-profile web-sites. Our consulting practitioners worked with the publishing firm and the data vendors to design, develop, load, and deploy this repository for a data-driven Content Management and Web Server environment. Various tools were created to support the internal business operations with respect to Bestsellers lists, Author Appearances, and overall data management.
