Services -> Client/Server

Overview
The roots of the company are based on our co-founders experience in delivering large-scale client-server solutions using Visual Basic accessing Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases.  Most of our consulting practitioners have been using the Visual Basic product since version 3.0, which means that they have gained a real in depth understanding of user interface issues, accessing the back-end databases, and creating MAPI compliant applications.  We are the ideal candidate for developing or maintaining existing applications in this area when targeting the Microsoft Windows platform.

Service Line Summary

What Client/Server solutions is MCG currently providing?

Current clients are working with MCG in the area of support and maintenance.  Some of our clients have Onyx Customer Center deployed across the enterprise to support their mission critical sales and support operations.  This application supports custom COM objects that can be developed as add-on modules to provide additional functionality that is not standard with the delivered Onyx product.  This type of work usually involves the modification of both database objects (i.e. Tables, Stored Procedures, Views, and Jobs) and user interface components associated with the COM objects.  This requires our practitioners to have a comprehensive understanding of both front and back-end deliverables.  Other clients have asked us to convert existing Visual Basic client / server applications over to more portable web-based applications for both internet and intranet user communities or support Access Databases with bundled VBA programs.
